What is Monchhichi?
Released by Sekiguchi in 1974, and adopted as a life companion by several generations of kids (and grown-ups!) Monchhichi has become a familiar face in most households around the world. The name “Monchhichi” comes from the French words 'Mon' (meaning 'my') and 'Petit' (meaning 'small and cute things') .
Monchhichi have a soft stuffed toy body with a vinyl doll's face and limbs. More than 40 years after its release, it continues to be loved by many people not only in Japan but all over the world.
