Pinky’s is super excited to present a new series of creative embroidery workshops with artists Alice Oehr and Ellie King, exploring hand-making for relaxation, mindfulness and fun. The artists grew up in the 90’s doing plenty of handicrafts, and still find them incredibly useful as adults to decompress from the stress of daily life. Making things in a circle with others is also a great way to socialise!
This session covers all the basics of Embroidery. Over two hours you’ll learn some simple stitches, create a sampler and go home with a doily or headscarf embroidered with your chosen design. Ellie and Alice will guide you through all the steps to bring your project to life! You will receive an embroidery kit and instruction guide to take home. This class is suitable for beginners!
The point of craft is not so much what you make, but the making itself. The flow state from repetitive movements like sewing, drawing & painting is incredibly relaxing– and you can make some cool stuff too.
Craft Circle is a space and time for us to do that together. We hope you will pick up these tools in the future– whether in front of the telly or with friends, and enjoy making something with your hands.
